The look of the river, like how many caps and how hard they are capping. I also look at windsurfers and see how big a sail they have and how much they are moving. For me basically if its nuken its 7m, if the windsurfers are moving good igts 9m, if the windsurfers are not really moving that well then its 11m.

I strip naked on the Rooster Rock beach, wave a dead chicken over my head 3 times while singing the lyrics to Der Kommisar and throw the chicken at the nearest kiter about to launch. When he drops his kite to beat my ass I look at the number on his kite, subtract 2 m but then add 1 m for every 3 feathers that flies off the chicken and stick to his wetsuit. If no feathers fly off I count the number of times the "You get pitted, so pitted" video was viewed divided by the number of times the Miss Teen South Carolina video was viewed and multiply by the length of the chicken kiters boardshorts in inches.
That or I read the specs on my kite, it's all good.
