Just made it home after forty hours of travel. The trip was well worth the brutal flights and I'd recommend this place to anyone. There were all types of people there, from doctors to families with small kids, to ripping young and old guys and gals! Everyone is stoked and there were surprisingly almost no Americans. Lots of folks from Spain, Europe, and even Dubai! We ate the best food made, and the drinks were potent. The wind turned on like clockwork every day at 11am and I rode my 7m all but two times (I rode an overpowered 9m). Fred (one of the owners) and I did an epic 22 mile downwinder from Prea to Tatajuba that took four hours! We rode chop, perfect swell, flat river mouths, AND got to mess with the windsurfers The trip was surprisingly affordable (sans plane tickets) and they guarantee wind every day or your lodging for that night is free. Looks like I got lucky and missed a crappy couple weeks of wind here. Were gonna head back in the next year or two and do the safari from Combuco to Prea. I'll post more pics as I find time.

Vila Prea

That's the beach everyone kites at. You can stay at Jeri where you can party if that's what you're into but you have to pay a buggy driver to take you twenty minutes to Prea to kite. The best food is at the villa and the owners are friggin cool! They offer a discount (like 20%) off your room if you pay cash. We were there for eleven nights and ate lunch and dinner (breakfast is free) and didn't spend more than two grand for the whole enchilada. We bought a ton of stuff as well and did downwinders everyday. This is the spot Ruben was throwing the double handle passes last year. Our days consisted of waking up, have a huge breakfast (crepes, ham and egg sandwiches, fresh fruit, watermelon juice etc.), walk into to Prea and watch the fishermen come in (they take those boats in the picture 25 miles offshore and fish all night. We cool off by snorkeling, head back to our bungalow for a game of cribbage or scrabble. Then kite for the next 7 hours. The evenings are chill with great food and drinks. Fred will set up his projector for movies so bring a bunch of kiting ones. Back to the bungalow by 9:30 (it gets dark at 5:30pm) and up the next day to do it again. The lagoons are cool but super gusty. If you want to party, Jeri comes alive at 1:30-2am. They party hard until 9am. A lot of visitors would go to bed after dinner and wake up at 1am to head into Jeri. I'm an old fart and would rather kite all day. It exceeded our expectations and by the time we left, all the guests were friends (there's only seven bungalows). If you are a country club kiter, they have people that will pump up your kite, launch it, and hand it to you to go ride. You have to go there once in your life if you can. It lives up to the hype! August is the beginning of the season. People ride there through Feb and Nov, Dec, and Jan are the best months. I hear there is nothing like new years there. They increase their rates by two and a half times and are already booked! It's a great place to learn or try new things. I was a dangling wave monkey and by the end of the trip was nailing s-bends, unhooked backroll kiteloops, and flat 3's. There are a lot less consequences in those waters.

| Sweet. I found a place over there, which will do a 10 day tour, and it includes housing, breakfast everyday, personal tour guide, you go to Jeri, and I believe the other meals are really cheap as well. I'll look-up the site and post it. We were planning to go there next October/November. Africa in October and then Brazil afterwards, also trying to do Thailand or Vietnam after Brazil. Was going to try to get a group of people together. If you have a group, the tour is with your group and tickets are cheaper as you get a group discount on most airlines. Heard the wind is absolutely amazing in November:-) One year and One month and counting.

| There are about four within half an hour from where we stayed. They're sweet but gusty. The problem is, They've been having a drought and they're all drying up. Cambuco has sweet lagoons but is really crowded. The best bet is to stay in the ocean.
