sorry phil... but knowing you, you'll get your time in again this week - I'm sure of it.

The coast was nice - nothing like saltwater to clear out the sinuses! I ended up kiting alone nearer the Astoria end of the beach to avoid a never ending rain storm. I'm still waiting on my big kite to come in so made do with a 12M and the glide board - surprisingly it was fun to ride in the waves.

I bet that glide would be fun, seems like you could skip down the face of a wave with it without much (or any) power from the kite. Not something a regular TT is too good at.

Glad you got out, guess coast was the call for the weekend...

Bummed to have missed you Colby. I was lookin' for the orange rig but looks like you passed thru Seaside.

I got out around 4pm when the storm cleared. 20m seemed to be the call until I got blasted around by a squall. I just purchased a Machine so it was fun to try the different adjustments. It is pretty nice being able to handle gusts well over 15mph and then as light as 8 or so, but I'm still new at it so I was pulling the wrong line the wrong way here and there... some of those F-ups resulted in a few drinks fo sho.

sorry to miss you barfly! I'll put up something here again next time I get the nerve up to battle the elements at the coast. I have to say though...the ocean water wasn't that cold...at least not yet!

Nope. I grew up a barney in Ptown. I'm definitely a big Gulls fan though. My wife and I were married here in the early 90's and we moved up from Oceanside in January. Now we own a b&b here in N. Seaside, check the web on my profile.

Ocean temps usually rise in the winter.
This is due to the fact that there is little or no northwest winds causing the extreme upwelling and current track from the north.

Fall is such an epic time here.
It is BEAUTIFUL this morning.
East winds 15-20mph.....in the ponds...flat water but fun.

It should switch to south later.
South winds are up and down.
Just hang out on the beach and when a strong cell of wind comes in jump on the water.
This weekend is supposed to be nice weather....not sure about the wind yet?

No doubt, the Oregon coast is the best place to live as a kiter in Oregon. Year round riding, and waves.

Scott
