Anyone heading out today? From the looks of it, there is no wind in the gorge, and Sauvie's is blowin'! Shocked I was thinking of heading somewhere around noon. Should I give Sauvie's a shot?...or head out to the gorge and anticipate that the wind will kick in later?

What do you guys think?

Dude - the gorge looks like crap - but you have Jones beach blowing at like 15 right now and Sauvie's at 12.

If you can make the drive then Jones beach may be the way to go.

I tell yah, nothing worse than having time off from work and seeing glassy water with no wind! Crying or Very sad

I've actually never been to Jones. How far away is it?

Probably be hittin' Sauvies early afternoon.

It depends on traffic - but if you can leave in the afternoon you should be fine. I would take the washington side on over and then cut accross on a bridge. I forgot the name of the highway that runs on the north side of the river - but you can shoot up I-5 and then go west until you get pretty close to Jones. I'd say it would take you an hour and fifteen minutes. But thats driving average speed. If you drive fast - maybe get there in an hour- maybe.

Sauvie's may be good. But I'm telling you - when Jones blows its sweet. Its pretty steady wind - wide chanel - lots of open space - pretty flat water - current isn't all that strong - beautiful ladies running around in topless bikinis (OK I'm making up the stuff about the beautiful ladies - but its still a sweet place).

If you do Jones, I'd definately take I-5 and cut over at Longview... 30 will make you wanna kill yourself, especially if there's SLOW cars!
