Thanks J-Pizzle (Twin Fin) & J-Wizzle (Jim White) for the excellent rock clean-up! I'm not too sorry that we moved on to windier sections of the river (viento)--good thing we got some powered riding in 'til we were done!
Many rocks cleaned up in the lowest "tide" I've ever seen at S-Burg.
Good Work Guys! Thumb's Up

Kudos to you guys. So when are we going to put in some type of dock? I've talked to a couple of people and they were on board with helping with either putting in a floating dock or a section of outdoor carpet past the main rock. Let me know who's interested, and I will go get the materials. Could be a very simple idea.

Aha, so that's "The Rock." That's a gnarly little launch for sure.

definitely a big thank you to those guys for doing that.

i have talked with the commissioner of stevenson and she has been very receptive to kiteboarders. i would think anything that is to be done to that area, would need to go through some type of council meeting.

anyone know the channels?

John McSherry runs the port operations and the kite launch is on port property. He is easy to talk to and receptive to kiters as well.

Kudos to the rock movers...

Kudos to Stevenson for being willing to work with kiters. The port has done some nice improvements over the last couple of years. Good job!!

Hope other towns will see the Kiter advantage and do more with us.

What about just filling in the area with smaller round rocks mixed with sand that don't kill your feet? just a thought.

The Port has been talking about creating a new kite launch west of slingshots aqua port , where there is a that little patch of grass, sounds like its a little off though.

I do believe that John submitted an application (or Skamania County did) to place the fill there (using the Rock Creek slide spoils). The application was a little on the light side information wise but I don't know what is happening with it. When I spoke with him last he was talking about needing funding to move all that material. It's ALLOT of material.
