For all of those folks who like to look up at the stars, the Perseid meteor shower will be at its peak this sunday.

This is one of the best meteor showers of the year and I am sure that everyone will be able to see plenty of meteors on Saturday night!

The link seems to indicate that the shower peaks Sunday night (9pm to 2am Monday).

I had clear skies last night ; only saw about 2 in 1/2 hr around 12:30. Saw about 15 on Saturday night after the blowout--It was amazing. Joby & Crew went for a KILLER night session around 11:30 -- We rigged 6 or so kites with 50 glowsticks and watched as the kites soared in-between shooting stars-- was very cool~!

ยก Sat. Sept 1-- one night only- METEOR STORM! : Mark your calendars !

We camped at the Wishbone Campground in Lyle last night. The clouds were not a problem eventhough it wasn't totally clear. We saw a bunch of meteors. Some were so bright the sky lit up! It seemed like the streaks lasted for a few seconds after the meteor fell. Next time I will bring a tarp and lay right on the ground to watch. The folding chair get uncomfortable while trying to look at the sky.
Thanks PDXMB for the heads up!
If any of you are looking for a good place to camp, Wishbone is super chill. It has good sights, running water and a shower room if you need it. $18 for 4 people. Just go up the hill from the Lyle sandbar and stay to your right. You will see the sign from there. While you are there, go have a glass of wine with Luke at Corr Winery!
