Can anyone give advice on Beverly Beach or nearby beaches? We're headed there next week and might try to do some flying. Any idea of typical conditions? Wind direction? Cautions? We're relative beginners on water (2 days of lessons) with 2 full seasons on snow.

Thanks!
Chris.

Big beach. Walk way upwind or downwind of crowds to launch. I've only kited there on a northerly.

Don't go too far upwind when it's north. Wind's a little fluky up near the ridge. Siletz Bay to the north is fun, as well as South Beach to the south!!!

Is a 3/4 wetsuit adequate for this time of year? We normally swim in pretty cold water here in MT, so I have some tolerance...

That was us....locals day yesterday before the onslaught of travellers hit. If you're going out of the campground, be sure and stay out of the crowd of campers on the beach in front of the bridge. We've had a couple scary episodes there. Wind often gets lighter as you go south, but often is filled in all the way to Moolack. Have fun, and be sure to spend your money on the local Newport economy!

I haven't been there yet myself, but I imagine we'll be as far away from the crowd as possible... Smile
