I haven't been thru the gorge since windsurfing days. Fave spots back in the day were places like rock creek and rowena and avery and maryhill -- mellow places mostly; now I fantasize about how I'd rig up, launch and land at these spots. First off, are certain spots off-limits to kites altogether?

I've obviously been gone a while... my last memory of the place was carving a gybe over someone's fallen kite lines at rooster rock, wondering when, like a kidney stone, this fledgling kiting fad would pass. What's the attitude today from windsurfers in general?

Certain launches are closed to kiting- i.e. the event site, but on the water all is well.
