So I got another person totally hooked on the kiteboard bug and unfortunately he is asking me what kites he should buy.

So of course I'll probably steer him towards some bows but what sizes?

He weighs 165lbs standing on the beach so I can't decide weather a 7-11, 7-12, or 9-12 combo would be best.

i'm fat so I never go below a nine but I don't want the poor guy pumping his kite on typical 20-24 know gorge days. Is a 7m enough for you sub 200 pounders?

Thanks!!

7/11 would work! That's like Tucker's weight... Laughing

Depending on how comfortable he is holding the kite down while being powered, I would think the 7-12 should work well in most conditions.
I wheigh 183 and I fly 9-12 meter waroo's. They are sweet and extremely easy to fly and learn on, not to mention CHEAP!!

With his weight if he plans on riding in the gorge most of the time, 7 & 10 would be the call. If he plans on riding in the ocean mostly have him get 9 & 12. Next month the 2008 North Rebel is due out. Very Happy

I weigh exactly the same as your friend and have a 7/12 combo. I find the 12 gets big quick in the Gorge. I'd say a 7/11 SLE quiver would be perfect.
