Thu Jul 19, 07 5:27 pm How long til my kite rolls over and dies? |
|
|
Im using a 2004 diesel 13 (maybe 12) and while adding a 5th line today i saw that there's a LOT of tiny holes in it, the 1x1mm type, and my question is. Is this a sign that the old piece of cloth is falling apart and if so how long, sessionwise, will that take? I'd estimate that there's a good 25+ of em small holes, couldn't be arsed to patch up more than the 10 worst
This might be a stupid question but an answer is appreciated, gotta know if i should start saving up cash for another 13 already ^^ |

In the meantime go to AirTime and buy some repair tape to pathc the holes so that they don't rip.
Good Luck,

It will be fine until you are....
A) way on the outside at the coast
B) out in the middle of the channel at Roosevelt ro some other place where the river is mega wide.
Then it will explode into a million pieces, and you will be washed out to sea and never found again or crushed by a huge barge and never found again. Either way, you won't need a new kite. There is however an outside chance that neither of those two things could happen so I would probably start saving money now and put the kite on e-bay with an honest description of the kites condition.
You would be amazed at how much people will pay for a bow kite on fee-bay.
cheers!

In the mean time, Put sail tape on the holes, than use it as a trainer....I would avoid going past the wall at the coast...PMB is right....Don't risk it...cause some times all it takes is a nice gust and "KaaaaBooommm"....Your last few words would be "Son of a Bia** ....What the Fu**..... Piece of Sh** kite... "
Good luck bro.... |

| meh, thanks for the answers. and i agree, the kite will for sure hold together until im way out there with a bargefleet incoming. I would patch it all up but im afraid i might have to spend my next week patching to get all the holes covered... |

| Yeah, just cut little round pieces of sail tape and sandwhich them (slighlty offset) over the holes. They are unlikely to blow out on ya. 2004 is not that old...just ask Sasquatch and Longview Leon! |
