I would like to do a downwinder along the coast. anywhere between lincon city and waldport. I figured from south beach at newport's south jeti to wald port should be sweet. I don't think there are any cliffs to go around, think its beach the whole way. Anybody else interested or have any safety tips/recommendations? |

I dont know anything about the section between Lincon City and Waldport. But I do know that the streatch of drivable beach is between Ship Wreak beach (Fort Stevens) and Delray breach (Pacific City) is SWEET!!!! on a NW day.
You can go down wind for approximately 7miles, get out of the water and hitch a ride back to your car right on the beach.
Scott Norby, thanks again for the ride up to Ship Wreak last Monday, you rule |

I'm all over it, but the forecast doesn't look too promising. Let's hope it gets better soon. I'm craving some waves. |

speaking of Waldport, I'm hanging with family there later this week...is it kiteable or do I have to head up to Newport, which would be a horrible compromise I'm sure! |

I hear good things, I know the Richman brothers were hanging out there for awhile this summer and said it was awesome. Maybe start another thread to get some more attention. |

Thanks! ...that's good enough to bring the gear. I'll just watch the wind at Newport this week. |

I second the post a " looking for beta between Newport and Florence" thread.
I'm headed to Yachats with later next week - let us know if you find something good. |
