Since you were out on a 9M Waroo (Sunday, Lyle, morning-ish) when everyone else was struggling to get going on 12M+, can you tell us a bit about that board you were on? A Hein? What are the stats (length, width, etc)?

Or is it all just mad technique? Wink Do you ever rig your 11??

I'd love to get your tips on flying Waroos in light winds.

Tip #1- build a big flat plywood board
Tip # 2- Weigh 130lbs soaking wet

If that doesn't work you can always resort to tip # 3...
Scrap the number 12 off of your kite and replace it with a 9.

Confused

I have flown my waroos in some insane-light wind and made it work...

Just don't white-knuckel the bar too much....the kite needs to be sheeted out a bit to respond and turn in super light conditions. Other than that, just keep it moving!

and yeah, chick-weight prob helps too..but I like beer too much to downsize!

Thanks! It is the Hein board for sure (126x39) ... They have great low end. Have you ever seen Hein ride? His 9m C is his big kite. I was also riding in the flatwater downwind while most other folks were in the chop upwind. Never mind that there was only an inch of water the time, so it was really more like landboarding (poor board, Hein I promise to be nicer to the new one.)

Also if I ever ended up downwind I just would go into the current in the main channel to get back up... Remember in the Gorge you can almost always get upwind by using the current in the channel.

Chick weight??!! Naw that's Gman, I am a solid 170 baby. Microbrews are too delicious! Very Happy

Tucker was also out there on a 9m T2 and a Slingy SX board... But he really IS chick weight. Wink
