OK, here is the agenda

safety patrol
- decide how we want to go about handling the safety situation
- figure out the best way to go about informing visitors and guests of safety concerns
- discuss when and how you should approach a beginner and offer help / ask questions

summer blowout
- August 11th, fall back day August 12th
- talk about possible volunteers, spread the word
- ask group for ideas for secondary sponsors

Website changes
- Ideas for additions
- Should anything be removed?

upcoming delta meeting
- what do the members / community want done with the sandbar during the off season?
- Talk about the possibility of a new Event site for windsurfers so kiters can have the old one

BOD nominations
- make sure everyone is in the know about hte nominations system
- accept nominations
- possible discussion of BOD restructuring
- decide on a day to stop the nominations

jet ski rescues
- Maybe put up a notice on the website warning people to not expect a jet ski rescue
- discuss possible causes of the high number of jet ski rescues (not knowing how to self rescue, etc) and possible solutions to keep this number down
- any other points from people that bring jet skis to the sandbar want to add anything here?

Proper Riding Etiquette near Instructors giving lessons
- designated learning area on the sandbar for non-jetski lessons
- giving plenty of room to student / jet ski combinations

Dog situation
- Basically just state that it is not the CGKA's responsibility to enforce the leash law. Encourage everyone to follow the Ports rules regarding dogs.
- If anybody wants to bitch, i'll hear them out Wink

I'd also like to find out if anybody else is interested in putting on some sort of a kite clinic for beginners, whether it be a self rescue teaching clinic, trainer kite clinic, something to help beginners out

Should the CGKA be renamed the HRSA (Hood River Sandbar Association)?
Is it just me or does it seem that the HR sandbar is the only focus?

actually the mission of the CGKA is to preserve and expand access for kiteboarders in the Gorge. If you recall, this spring, we were trying to gain beach access for kiters at the event site, and we also have plans to help expand our area of focus to Stevenson and Lyle, but we can only do so much and make things happen so fast. It isn't our fault that the Hood River flooded last November, and our area of focus this spring has been the most popular area in the entire Gorge to kite. Thanks for your input though.

Are we going to need to park outside the gate, or do you have something dialed in with the Port so that we can park and hang out at the parking lot?

I'll be there.

sheet, i never thought about that, i figured an hour would be enough time to get through the meeting. Might be a good idea to park outside the gate. I guess if we run over, then we could just move our cars outside.

my reason for having it down at the sandbar, is because Cory is putting on his race series, which i may even participate in this time, and i think there is going to be plenty of people down at the sandbar, no reason to move everyone to full sail. I suppose if anybody wants to go there and get beers and food after the meeting, then it sounds like a plan. Also, the people at full sail like me to have a number of people that are going to show up, and with this meeting i have no idea how many people are going to show up.
