Anyone know how to get these? They used to carry them at Big Winds, but a sales guy at the shop said they can't get them anymore.

The phone number listed at www.cabaldc.com is disconnected.

Out of biz??

Any recommended alternatives?

We have a demo NOBILE Skim board at 2nd Wind you can take out for a spin is you like.

I don't know which model it is, but we just had them dropped off at the shop to try out.

Hey Pepi! This is Jonah.. I have the skim you gave me to demo yesterday. I had fun on it, but am looking for something a little bigger for the light days. Didn't realize you had some other options like the Nobile.

The Nobile looks nice, but does it ride without fins too? I like the shallow lagoons at the spit and often they're almost too shallow for fins.

Lauri and I will pop by tomorrow. I know she wants to demo some more boards.

I have been riding the Crazy Fly skim for a few weeks. I really like it. I had no prior skim experience. I have used it as a light wind board with my biggest kite being a 13m Fuel. And I have had it in heavy chop in winds strong enough for my 132 TT.

This board has a bunch of inserts so it can be ridden with or with out straps in many positions. It can be ridden with or with out fins. There are two in the rear and one up front center. Riding it like a twin tip and just reversing directions is easy as is staying up wind. It is easier to jibe than I thought it would be. It is still plenty skatey and easy to spin with all three fins and I haven't ridden it sans fins yet. It was fun out at the coast JRA (just riding along) in inches of water.

Email me at gs1ifx@yahoo.com if you would like some pictures. And feel free to ask for a test run when you see me at the launch.

Jason at Seattle Kite is the dealer and he can hook you up

The nobile does ride with or without fins and doesn't have the width or the forgiveness of the Cabal boards, IMHO...it just takes a little more balancing skill and finesse with light winds...at least that was my experience between the two. Of course, Mark Shinn could probably ride a food tray from McDonald's upwind and make it look cool, but try one out from Pepi's or try mine if you catch me at the beach and see what you think.

Cabal Skimboards is definitely still in business and have been working on a new board to be released called the S2. I have been riding a prototype everyday for the past 3 weeks and love it. More rocker, tail kick, and softer rails offer a very surfy, user friendly board and there is just no beating the Cabal technology for durability.

Cabal is sposoring the 2007 SKC- Strapless Kiteboarding Collective Sat. July 14th and will have boards to Demo at the HR Sandbar. Check the post on the 2007 SKC for more info! To be posted soon...

I love (not in a gay way) my Cabal Fire Skim - super fun in the river swell and great for dialing in your skills for strapless riding in the ocean.

turbo.. thanks for the info. SKC sounds great.

Since the phone # on the cabal website is disconnected, do you know where it is (or will be) possible to buy these boards? I haven't found any place online.

It looks like it's been awhile since they have updated their site...

Glad to help. The story w/ Cabal is that they went from a distribution company CabalDC, to a manufacturer CBII and have been busy making boards in Dalleport, Wa. for other fine American watersport companies in addition to the house Cabal Skim brand. There will be 4 shiny S2's for demo at the sandbar on Sat the 14th for the SKC. Hope to see you there. Pray for breeze!
