I spent the last two days at lyle and loved it. thanks for the directions i asked for. there was no sand bar by the way but it was some good riding. I rather liked it becasue it was not as crowded as the spit.
I hope every one enjoyed the few times i yarded myself, but i now think i have my raleys down. i wish i had pictures of you all but i was the only one out there for a while soaking up all the wind i could imagine with my 7 meter. thanks again.
next question is where is the stevenson launch and how do i get there from portland.

| From Portland take I-84E just as you would to Hood River... Once you get to the Cascade Locks exit, get off and loop directly onto the bridge (Bridge of the Gods - costs $1.00). Once you get to the Washington side, continue east for ~5 mins. Watch your speed when you get into Stevenson (they'll get ya for 5 over), take the first right where the road "forks". Once you hit the 4-way stop, turn right and cross over the tracks. Go left, almost to the end of the road (not quite to the boat launch), and take the last right. You're there! |

| Or from Lyle, on the WA side of the river, head West on Hwy 14. Come into Stevenson and turn left on Russel, down the hill past the post office, over the tracks, left, etc.... |
