Thanks to the Slingshot crew who came out from Stevenson, there was actually a decent turnout for marginal wind. 10 of us raced 3 heats and the clear winner was Sean Farley from Mexico on a Rhino 10 meter with Norths crazy looking race board. The rest of us struggled upwind on kites that were too small but everyone was evenly matched.

The course was similiar to last week, starting from the bottom of the sandbar and cruising upwind to the Red Buoy in front of the event site. This week we used the railslide that was setup in the Hood River as the downwind mark so it made for a nice dogleg flatwater run through the rail jibbers.

Even thought the wind was light, we could all go upwind and test our lightwind skills. If any of us would have had the balls to throw up a bigger kite, it would have been no contest, but at the race meeting, the wind was still strong and gusty.

Bottom line, we all had fun and drank beers to some Jack Johnson in the parking lot afterwards. Were still looking for more racers in the future, so come on out Friday after next for round 4.
