it was an attempt at a hoochie glide ..but when you have your back hand not in the center of the bar and let go with your other hand...lets just say that turned into an ugly raley with a half kite loop and a hard crash
thanks for catching the better part of the attempt.

Yes..it was an attempt at one
Forward Hand Board Grab + Raley = Hoochie Glide
Back hand Board Grab + Raley = OHH (Other Hand Hoochie Glide)
SBC Kiteboard mag did a nice write-up on Wake style tricks
I found out that trying to do a raley with one hand on the bar, then reaching back was to much force and balance control was weird. Much easier to reach back once your board has left the water, then grabbing your board.
My first S-bend attempt was more like a 360 spin belly flop unhooked..that was fun.

Nice Trev - I usually yell ' Hoochie - Hoochie - Hoochie ' before I throw one - doesn't seem to help much - but it's hell-0f-a-lotta fun. I'm workin' on the Raley based trix too - we'll have to get together next time out and compare notes. - Chris

I haven't tried yelling "Hoochie Hoochie"..think it would help?
Just look for me on the SS with the big R "Real logo" pasted on them
I found that doing a good raley is just timing and being powered. If you’re not full powered, you can't get the yank. And if your timing is off, that is all that happens you get yanked straight into the water.
Also when you unhook, go straight into the move, don't wait. As the kite pulls, it starts to throw your body weight over the front edge. This means you head will be too high and your board too low..and you'll catch your edge on the way back down.
Phil also helped me, by telling me to keep my kite lower, defiantly helps get the flick of the board above your head. But also makes your crash harder if you F it up, as you have the kite low being dragged unhooked.
See you out there!

in wakeboarding, a hoochie glide is a toeside raley. You don't have to grab.
is it different in kiteboarding?

I don't really think yelling stupid sh*t helps that much - but - I've been told there is wisdom in the words of the old guy from Karate Kid --
Don't THINK - FeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeL
Sometimes I have to tell myself this when I'm overthinking a move, and it seems to help.
