I noticed a couple of things that myself and others were having issues with in the creation of a donation page, so I thought I'd put together these tips to help. If you have anything to add please post here.

1) You have your choice between 4 different charities, they are listed here on the donate page of KB4C. Keep in mind in choosing your charity KB4C does need to recoop costs of running the event (renting the Event Site, etc..) so consider making them your charity. http://www.kb4c.org/donate.html

2) After clicking on one of the links on this page click, on "Become a Fundraiser" at the top to start your page. You will need to create an account.

3) The page where you customize your web page is pretty self explanatory, but the submit button for the form is a little hard to find, just look at the very bottom right hand corner where it says "Save & Finish"

4) If you want to upload a photo make sure you resize it/compress so the file size is below 100kb. If you are having trouble with this part you can email it to me and I will resize it for you: dax@dv8.org

5) After you are done creating your page, grab the URL, send it to as many people as you can and try to raise some money for this excellent cause. The event is not until August, but that doesn't mean we can't start raising money right away.

Phil. Thanks for the update and helpign people get squared away with this.

We are a bit behind with the flow of details like this since we have been in the hospital with Scott these past days.

It is very inspiring all of the support that is coming together around this event... and it is a HUGE sign of support to our family to see that our kiteboarding family is rallying around the cause. As many of you have also probably experienced, our families don't always undersand how or why kiteboarding is such a part of our lives... but having this community showing it's support speaks volumes to those about the kind of people we are and associate with.

We are currently working with sponsors, so haven't been able to share what the incentives are for participation... this will all start coming together next week. Just know that the top $ earner and other top category winners will go home with new kites and boards... maybe even some early release '08 stuff if we can swing it.

This event is designed to be all inclusive. Not a contest but a participatory event to show the strength and dedication the kite community can bring to a cause. It is just an added benefit that we will be rewarding the participants with new kite gear.

Thanks to everyone for your support. It really makes a difference in our life every day when we get to read to postings of support.

I had to increase my goal since my very cool uncle made me reach my goal of $500 already. Thanks Uncle Doug!

PKH- thanks for the tips for creating a page and clearing up the donation details. Tekko is right that this is going to be an incredible event and a great way that the kiting community can show what an awesome community we are. If anyone has any questions about signing up please pm or email me, I am glad to help. Also if anyone has or knows anyone who would like to donate something for the silent auction let me know. Thanks
