Great place....Got there about 12:30...Winds were from the SE but started shifting to the South....I think this place only works good on south and north winds...We (Tucker, Adam and I) got there when the tide was down...The 3 of us w/ sooooo much space....wow...and than it rained and rained soo much...shit was coming down side ways....Than the tide starts coming up...than a few hours later...the wind goes nuts....from a nice 15-20mph to a freak'n nuke fest "abort mission" ......for a short while Tucker and Adam were seriously lit.......Lots of rain + cold temp. + lots of S. winds = Extreme kiting.
Over all, had a great time...This is a pretty nice spot...seemed like the ocean water was a hella of lot warmer than the columbia....
we were on our 4/3 w/ no booties or gloves....
Sorry for not taking any pics...My girlfriend would kill me if the camera gets wet...
(Thanks again Tucker for saving my board - The great Wind Gods will deliver you with great Karma....)

I was home watching the conditions, and could see sense what was about to happen later in the afternoon - jetty readings jumped from 11 to 14 out of the SSE to 29-37 out of the SSW. You guys are core! Must've been a long walk out to the channel with the low tide. Did you go from Dog Doo Park? How did the rain effect the kite performance?
I'm still waiting for a good south wind day at Siletz without the rain.

Yea, fun day for sure! Pics probably would have sucked anyway with the shitty weather.
And to answer your question, Steve. We just parked at the little beach access area in the middle. Didn't know you guys had another name for it. haha! But yea, it was a walk out to launch, but by the end of the day, we could cruise all the way in (when the wind wasn't all wacky).

Nice work guys, could have made the drive all the way down...but had to entertain "guests"
We got weirdo wind skunked from Manzanita to tolovana on Sat.
oooh...but come sunday, we did some clamming and 5-mile downwinders from sunset beach to shipwreck.... 16m's and 18s.. It was pretty much south, turning SW so by the end of the day you could just ride the shallows...but 70 and suntans, brats and PBRs made it a killer day.
-kinda fun riding downwind the other way at ft stevens.
John---(guy who just moved here from Cali.)...I never got your missed call so hit me up and we'll do it again..

I don't think the rain caused too many problems, Other than no girls walking around out there w/ bikinis....But I think the kite did weighed in a little heavier than normal-hardly noticable...We had plunty of wind so I guess it wasn't really a problem....However, packing up sucked big-time. Nothing was dry and everything was covered up by sand....what a mess...I skipped church on sunday and spent all morning cleaning my shit...But it was worth it....
