Graham Ezzy floats it pretty well too. Luv how the section ends, so he just goes over the white water.

NICE!!!! I envy you so much...Oahu has no wind, and I can't go up North because I have to study.... Sad

That first pic is awesome, what settings did you have to get that light in it?

I just got a Rebel XTI, so nothing super fancy, but it is fun to get some shots.

I also tried som sunset shots...which came out okay...I am still working on some framing issues, and my zoomlens aren't exactly of the best quality..but some of them are okay.

Look good to me... Do you have Photoshop? About 75% of the work comes after the digital image has been snapped. If you have a good image you can get great results, but as they say... Garbage in is garbage out. You really do have some nice looking images...

thx, yeah I have PS, I am waiting for the CS3 though, should have better RAW support, and I am looking to check that out more.

I also got the Canon 100mm Macro lense, which is so much fun, but super hard to use. Damn it seems that being a student gives me too much spare time.... Smile

Of course, my images are cropped...so having them in print wouldn't really be the same Smile

Well, for my pics, I should not take so much pride, since Pipeline is basically right there on the beach. It was my xmas eve and it was truly great. Ended the night with some good food, poker and cognac.

I paddled out at the second spot (the sunset pics), it was a little bigger when I was there, and I got royally messed up. Man you don;t really see the currents, but they are truly nasty. It's funny though the waves on the North shore is REALLY hardcore. There is so much more power in them than the average South Shore wave, that it cannot be compared 1:1.

I was planning to get back up since the North Shore is going off again, but the was was closed.

I am thinking Jaws should be going off now Bam?

That said, I am still trying to get over to you guys spots this summer now...I have a friend of a friend that has a cottage near the Gorge (really near some kiting spot...dunno which yet). So I got a 4/3 wet suit. That should be enough right? Or too much? I am planning to use in Norway as well.

Look forward to meeting you.
Summer riding doesn't require a wetsuit in the gorge. Some do wear shorties though.
Keep the pics coming.

Hi Alex!

Part of it depends when in the Summer you'll be here. I wear a full suit in June and a shorty July-Sep. You might want to hit the coast too; I always wear a full there... That's just me though. If you need a shorty while you're here, I have one, from when I was a few pounds lighter Very Happy , that should fit you. (If you want to borrow one.)

Hey, I bought a board when I first moved over here about 5 years ago, but I didn't really start until maybe 2-3 years ago. I was in way too bad shape after living in Amsterdam for a few years... Funny though the kiting in waves helps for surfing and the other way around.

I kind of suck at surfing slightly more than I suck at kiting Smile Doesn't really matter though as the stoke is all that matters.

Nak, I really appreciate it. I do have a shorty that I use for winter kiting here and deep diving. I've never kited outside the islands so that will be a change. Smile I've heard a lot about some of the spots over there...so I am looking forward to it...hope I still can afford it though...student salary really isn't much to brag about Smile

Anyways...

Hey Now!

I am keeping the house in the Gorge! Hopefully I will be able to get back some this summer for a mix of fun and work.

Take care all you Hoodies... Jon
