The whole swath of S. Idaho from Pine Turnoff to the Montana & Wyoming borders is in the best condition I've ever seen. So many options this winter. Monida Pass is my go-to spot this winter but literally every location plus some that aren't even known as kite spots offer endless variety. It's definitely "The" year in S. Idaho....Utah as well....S. Montana also....Western WY.

Normally the best places "used to be great before everyone discovered it". Not so with the Camas. For those new to snow wind sports, you need 3 things for a great session: Visiblility, Good surface, and of course. Wind.

I was passing through and only stopped when I saw conditions were looking good when I stopped in Mountain Home for lunch. I set up at Malcomson and hardly saw another soul. The bathrooms were decent compared to prior visits and the warming hut was stocked. 2 solid days there and grabbed maybe the best session at Gwyen's on my way south on the 46.

Snow winging starts with your 6M wing when you'd be on your 10M kite but it works and is fun.

Get out there and give the Camas some love!
Thumb's Up

Glad you scored!!!
Talking to the locals when we were there, they said this has been one of the best years in recent memory.

You don't have to be a local to know this place is a rocking since forever!

Be riding since 2009 and its the best the place has looked ever...

Not sure how to imbed links anymore on this site but here is a link from my January trip this year. Have been out 3 times so far in early winter. Might have to make a spring break trip for longer days and maybe even some nice temps full of sun!
