They used to have one in the Helm trailer - a generator with compressor. Mostly used for school kites. Chuck also has one in his panel truck that some of us mooch off. But alot of folks have the little yellow Italian jobs that have to be rebuilt on a monthly basis.
I really like the direct wind->pump idea.

whenever a thread like this arises it is mandatory that at least one person chime in with "pumping the kites manually is a good warm up!".
