The Bridge of the Gods and the Blowout are returning for 2022! July 15th-17th. More information will go up as we get closer.

Bridge of the Gods: Youth freestyle in both kiteboarding and winging. Children 20 and younger. Heats and divisions will be decided based on participants. $50 to enter with some killer prizes. Ideally this event will be held on Saturday July 16th from about 10am to 4pm. The event may move to Friday the 15th depending on wind.

The Blowout: A race from Stevenson to Hood River with NO BOAT SUPPORT. Racers will be put randomly on teams to add to the fun and safety. Car pooling is very encouraged and there will be many moving parts on race day. Racers need to be at Stevenson kite beach no later then 10 AM. Free food and beer at the finish line for all racers. $100 to enter gets swag bags and prizes for all racers. Ideally this event will happen on Sunday July 17th but it may be moved to Saturday July 16th depending on wind.

Answers to some of your questions:
Bridge of the Gods will only be freestyle this year for winging.
Bridge of the Gods winging freestyle is only for children 20 and under.
Blowout teams are random and no you cannot make your own team.
Registration for both the Bridge of the Gods and The Blowout will happen day of the event. There is no online registration.
The Blowout is a hard race that takes over an hour (for most) and has no boat support. If any of that is an issue this race might not be for you. Intermediate and above.
Neither the Bridge of the Gods or The Blowout have a hard start and will be dependent on many factors including wind and number of competitors.

If you have any questions please message me or ask here. Many people on nwkite have competed before and likely know the answer. The Bridge of the Gods is intended to help young riders go forward with their kiting. The Blowout is intended to continue a great tradition dating back to the 80's.

Stoked the BOG & Blow Out is Back! I'll be racing the Blow Out for sure!

Is there an online sign-up or just day of event?

Thanks for the heads up Grom!

Blowout teams are random and you cannot request to be on the same team as your friends. Each team of 4 will have one pro rider and 3 other teammates. This way all teams are pretty even, everyone gets to make new friends, and no one is left out. You can still race along side anyone you want if safety is an issue. Although if a rider needs help doing the race then maybe it’s not a good idea to race.

We have over 30 companies sponsoring the weekend. In the blowout our top prizes will not be going to the winners of the race but rather random competitors. We will give a surf board away to whomever guess the winners time. Another will be a raffle pull of competitors. EVERY racer will get some prize at the awards ceremony based on how your random team does. A full breakdown will come out in the next week as we 100% our sponsors.

Sponsors are set for the Bridge of the Gods and The Blowout. It’s our biggest prize pool ever. Core is our title sponsor and they are giving away a brand new kite to the youth men’s and women's champions. Below them you’ll see our gold level sponsors each donating $1000 worth of gear or money. Finally at the bottom you’ll see our silver level sponsors donating $500 worth of gear or money. Every person that enters will receive a prize.

Kite, foil, windsurf, wing, sail, swim. Whatever way you want as long as you’re safe.
