Mon Oct 12, 20 10:29 pm New life for old bladders? |
|
|
Just dissected a 2010 10m North Rebel and 2015 11m Naish Pivot that were 'totaled', but the strut bladders all seem to be OK- curious on the Rebel since not a single valve on the leading edge remained glued on. Both LE bladders are trashed, so I can't pass them on to foodmagnet (http://nwkite.com/forums/t-48740.html). Actually the Naish bladder is torn along the seam so it could possibly be sealed using the technique I saw in a previous thread (yes I searched).
I plan to donate the canvasses to Roxanne or Airtime. Any use for these old bladders or bladder material - besides sword-fighting (Jim)? Marc, can you use 'em?
Or does anyone know what material they're made of so I could look for a recycler that takes them? |

Airtime said no and they are TPU plastic which, although slightly better for the environment is not taken by most recyclers, so I guess I'll just inflate them and drop them off at TBR's house.
BTW Jim, there's a guy in Portland giving away some old Sky Pirates... want me to drop those off for your board fence at the same time? ;-) |
