Looking to find some kiters for Viento to HR. 1 or more. It's about safety. I 1/2 hour session is my preference. I'm in PDX, but available most any day the wind is good. Thanx

1 1/2 hr downwinder? What if the swell is going off and their isn't anyone out there. Are you going to rush down to the downwind car then?

The best downwinders are savored and maximize the good riding conditions when they present themselves.

I like the shoutout and your idea, but during the Covid virus times I think this idea has bad timing. Unless of course both parties drive a pickup and the other party sits in the bed of the truck.

I am interested in a viento dw, it’s good to have others on the run in case something goes wrong. It looks like Thursday might work. Masks in the vehicle could help keep it safer (virus).

I'm in for Viento most anytime! There to Hatchery is the best wind, great scenery, and lots of space to spread out.

Prefer to go with someone else who is willing to be the last one out via self-launch.

Anyone up for Viento in an hour or two? I'm headed there, regardless. Would be cool to have other people!

Viento to HR was AWESOME today!

There have been some DMs and texts flying around about this, so I'll post here for everyone's benefit:

Given current water levels, there is (IMHO) plenty of space for people to do non-sketchy launches at Viento. One person holds kite close to edge of water; kiter walks 25m into water and is still no more than chest deep. Kite gets launched with no wind shadow and also nothing downwind to tumble into in an underpowered launch. There's underwater sandbar continuing a ways westward down the shoreline, so there's plenty of space for multiple people to launch at the same time (or get away from beachgoers, if there are any, which there weren't today).
