Doug's is calling.

This work party.....is a key moment for all Gorge kiters seeking access to perhaps the best Sun, Swell and Wind combo in the region. The CGW2 is holding true on their promise to explore Doug's as a viable kite option so if you can only make it to one event....this is the one! All help will be much needed and appreciated.

From Facebook;

Hello Kiters, the CGW2 is looking for 20-25 strong-backed volunteers for a new beach and kite launch project at Doug's Beach State Park on Saturday October 5th from 9am to 1pm. Please contact Bart at the CGW2. We have a limited window to work with Washington State Parks and given the washout of the Wonderbar, this could create some of the best river access for kiting on the Washington side of the river. 541-386-9225 This work will be brush removal, cutting and piling of invasive plants, blackberries, etc and will be very physical work. CGW2 is working for you kiters, join and support please at cgw2.org.

This new site will be a short walk west of Doug’s windsurfing launch. Park and enter at Doug’s main parking area, head down to the restrooms and go right.

Siiii....such good wind.....and all the windsurfers I know mostly kite now so hopefully a win-win deal for all within a very big river.

Call it an End of Season party...whatever it takes.....but this one will set the tone for kiter / windsurfing relations to finally become more unified as Doug's is historically quite significant.

Coordinate the date now. I typically use the excuse "I'm volunteering in my community to build a stronger community" blah blah blah but once we trim some bush we might all get to score a late season session so make sure you have your gear and come get some stoke before 2019 closes out.

Dang, sorry crew but I'm away on a short vacation that weekend. However Windance would like to buy some coffee & food for the work party.
Bart hit me up.

Here's the deal everyone and yes I just got off the phone with Bart.

- Clean up is 9:00 -1:00 this Saturday.
- Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier.
- Work 1 hour or work all 4. All time is greatly appreciated but plan on burning some calories.

- Two major areas being cleared. - Tarps being laid down. Wood being burned on site for quick disposal.

The State will have back hoe and chipper running, which costs $$$ so they want at least 15+ people to make their time worth it. Bart is hoping for many many more to show up. Dress appropriately. Nasty stuff being removed.

Hot dogs & beverages will be available but most importantly you'll peg your good kite Karma needle to full tilt LIT!

See you Sat.
