Probably a dumb question, but...

Is it possible to bend an aluminum mast under normal foiling conditions?

I had a pretty decent bend in my mast and am having a hard time figuring out how it got there. It took a decent amount of weight and force to correct the bend and I think I am careful with storage and travel.

Just curious if anyone has experience with this occurring when the cause is not obvious.

Hard to imagine it happening with just riding unless improperly manufactured.

Is the bent mast one of the older original Liquid Force 2015 orange masts? I can't imagine any other mast bending unless you're trying to teach your kid parallel parking and forgot where you stored your setup.

Not LF, it is a very commonly used newer model. I didnt want to mention the brand as I don't think this is an issue that has anything to do with them. At 200# plus I had to hop up and down on it is to straighten it out so I decided not to simply blame my kids...

It will remain a mystery, but the good news is I can blame it on me sucking...

I bent a few masts. In the surf and from running into ground at slow and fast speeds. You can bend it back but I found it just bends again as the metal has been compromised
