Trying to find a roof bar system for a Winnebago view for surf/sup/kite boards. ……..

Yakima makes a 86 inch bar, but the rv is 90 inches wide giver or take..

Any suggestions.......

The one time I recommend a competitor Wink

Contact Dave Nunn over at Windance. They are the rack shop with all the rack stuff you need in Hood River. Do it right and you will travel with no stress and no gear damage issues.
It's worth it to buy the right rack parts.

You would be wise not underestimate the power of gorge winds. I thought my rack and thule box were fine. Driving through the gorge in driving rain...phhhhruuump. it got ripped off the roof and landed on i84.

This is the fun part. Oh shit! I slam on the brakes and get over to the shoulder and jog down in the pouring rain to the rack. Oh cool, another guy stopped to help me.

"Hey thanks man, it was ripped right off"
"Oh, this is yours"
"Yeah, that is why I stopped"
He says "oh" then walks bag to his truck and drives away.

Does anyone use a Yakima round bar system and if so, is the diameter of the pipe actually 1 in or 1 and 1/8?

I just measured the yakima bar with calipers and can confirm 1 1/8" diameter
the actual steel portion looks like around 1 1/16" but with the plastic covering, its 1 1/8"
