I need more gym time. To me it looks like pain for shoulder rotators.

I think it looked dumb. Then I saw Robbie Naish doing it, and it looked cool. I'm not looking forward to dropping $799 for it, but can't wait to see some locals up and going.

I owned a KiteWing that I used on the snow.
The good:
1. Instant depower since there is no wind-window
2. From 20knots to 35knots it worked (amazing range for one sail)
3. About the size of 1 windsurfing sail packed up
The bad:
1. I never really got it to work with a snowboard, only skis
2. No wind window meant that it did not work in light winds (below 20 knots)
3. Large/awkward pack-size compared to foil kites or even inflatables
My take on this new wing is that Slingy solved #3, and now we can reasonably hydrofoil with it. Without a wind-window to dive the kite for more power means that high resistance small board kiting is not going to work. You will need a windsurfboard for this........but maybe we can save some of the old windsurfers from the dump with this innovation.

That's pretty cool. I would love to be to foil ocean surf/swell on the Oregon Coast that nobody else is interested in, agro/territorial about ect, with no launch/land issues.

I think this looks great!! I mean it's new, so they'll refine it. Obviously there's room for improvement. What if you made the straps you hold on to a little longer, you know get some flexibility to fly it a little bit. The you could add a handle to hold on to. Get a little more control. The next big improvement would be to lengthen the straps even more; maybe even use some kind of rope between the handle and the straps!! If you made the ropes longer and thinner you could move the wing around a bit, maybe get more airflow over the wing so you could increase the available lift... Maybe use 4 ropes, or call them lines, so you could control the angle of attack. I think this thing is going to morph into something really cool; this is just the beginning!

I just saw a video from Fuerte: a guy on his SUP foil board and a small foil kite with 2m lines. That looked comparable in performance to this new wing.

The board that guy is on has some sort of joint sticking out of it. Maybe he could affix that rigid portion of his kite to it and strap something around his waist to leverage his body weight against its center of effort?
You guys are onto something here...
