Thu Aug 03, 17 12:38 pm Anyone Foiled from Toll Plaza Beach, Oakland CA? |
|
|
I have done a lot of regular kiting from Emeryville Beach near Berkeley Marina. Wondering if Toll Plaza gets deep enough, fast enough for foiling? I visit family down there and looks like a nice potential spot in The Bay where I don't have to fight traffic to get to Chrissy/Coyote etc from Berkeley.

I have never launched from there. but..
I have launched just north a bit from "Marina Bay" Barbara and Jay Vincent Park in Richmond - never crowded , water is always deep and the launch is a big open grassy area with a skillful walk to the water. The trees and island are deceiving and pose no real issue although its been called an "advanced" launch. It's a great launch and if your foiling you're really not that far from Toll Plaza. _________________ "I have often regretted my speech, never my silence" ~Xenocrates Last edited by Freeride Kiter on Fri Aug 04, 17 10:48 am; edited 1 time in total |

I have foiled here once. At low tide it is a bit of walk/ drag out to deep enough water, but otherwise should work at any tide. Only hazard I found was the tall underwater grass close to the base of the bridge. I think Point Emery is a little easier to get out at when it's low tide. |
