A must read for all inhabitants of the Columbia Basin. I read it 14 years ago so I could understand the politics of this mighty river. Kiters/windsurfers don't even figure into the whole equation except to stress out the barge drivers.
"A River Lost: The Life and Death of the Columbia River" by Blaine Harden. He rode in a barge for a week or so and described the impact of the power and politics of "our" river! _________________ moondog Last edited by moondog on Mon Jul 31, 17 7:37 am; edited 1 time in total |

After reading the book I interviewed a barge pilot. He said the 2 most stressful sections of the river were a very narrow section on the Snake River and dealing with all the kiter/ windsurfers in our region. _________________ moondog |
