Pretty sweet if you have a harness with a slider rope instead of a hook.

The new Slingshot Talon bar part will work on Slingshot Compstick bars, both Guardian (below the bar trim) and Sentinel (above the bar trim). It replaces the chicken loop and the donkey dik is removed.

This is for a slider (line/rope, not hook) based harness application, like Ride Engine offers. You can switch from slider to hook, Talon back to chicken loop quick and easy. You can switch slider to hook on Ride Engine harness accordingly.

Make your choice, which you can do on the beach if you bring the parts. If you never unhook like me, you can consider going to slider and Talon for all riding.

I've been doing this with small chicken option from Slingshot now for the last year. Been very happy with that, but it gets a little better with Talon vs using small chicken loop in terms of the material used - metal will slide a little better vs chicken loop and it's tighter to the slider line.

Cool new bar option. Thanks Slingshot!

Have not tested yet using a carabiner with Talon for tethered launch and land. I do that all the time with small chicken loop setup I've been running.

Simply add a small (2 to 3 inches in length) marine appropriate carabiner to slider line on harness, attach carabiner to small chicken loop. Hopefully will work the same with Talon.

Not sure about using Talon with hook in emergency. If the hook fits, probably will work in emergency, but could be issues. Designed to work with slider.

I attach a butterfly clip to my 90% depower fixed loop on my slingshot bar for tethered launches/landings, see pics.

Slingshot rocks for parts! A replacement standard CL line is like 1/3rd the cost what the same part for a North CL line is. And the Slingshot ones are available too.

Interesting that on another forum there was discussion how a now defunct large kiteboarding brand stopped carrying parts. This was explained as being due to a statistical analysis by the bean counters showing that parts were not profitable. Essentially this is a big middle finger to the riders of that brand. And I am sure those bean counters never looked to see how much their decision hurt the brand.

Nice that Slingshot does not take this approach. - They are definitely the brand at the top of my list to replace my current brand.

Will the Talon work with the "Option" DaKine slider bar that has double rope? Anyone tried it yet?

Thanks for that, Happycamper (maybe I've ridden with you there?). I've been trying to figure out a way to do tethered launches with a rope slider sans hook. So simple, I'm embarrassed I didn't think of it! In my defense, I couldn't see that little ring on my compstick with my donkey-whaddayacallit screwed in there.

Very Happy
