Hi Guys!

I was in Hood River for the weekend, and saw some of you guys doing your thing on the Columbia in Hood River. This was Saturday 4/1 around 4 or 5 pm I think? I've got a Mavic so I swooped on down from the house I was at, and filmed what I could before I got low on battery. Probably got 7 or 8 minutes of footage? Below is an edited video, but I can post the whole thing if you're one of the guys (or were kiting around that time), and let me know.

Sorry about the high angles, I was trying to stay as out of the way as possible. Anyway, I hope you guys like it, and even more so I hope one of the guys see it!

O BTW was super shocked to see you guys use hydrofoils now, so badass! You guys are amazing.

All the best!

Ian

Nice footage, thanks for posting! I was working out around Mosier and The Dalles for the weekend, so I didn't make it out myself and I'm not sure who you caught there. It was much windier to the east both days, but this coming weekend looks promising here.

Thanks guys! Also meant to mention I shot this is 2.7k, so screen shots should work pretty well as pics if wanted.

Hope these guys see it!

I was at 1516 Sherman (a rental). Looks like I was between .8 and 1.3 miles away while it was filming.

FAA regulations state the drone must be in eye sight of the pilot. that area is a landing zone for sea planes and there is a heli pad over by the Best Western hotel.

although the likely hood of connecting with a plane is extremely minimal it would indeed be tragic and create more restrictions for flying drones. flying over an interstate or the public is never a good idea also.

do you have flight liability insurance? if not check out https://verifly.com and cover each flight.

not intending to be a dick. just keeping awareness out there for fellow pilots on the risks.
