Does anyone have the video of Downstream surfing the standing waves by the windance house during the flood of '06?

Snow pack on Hood is 120% compared to normal year.
Meadows has 193 inches at mid-mountain.
Deschutes basin is 130% of normal.
I've seen many years when Meadows was over 200 inches.

I don't think this year will effect the sandbar - one way or another.
Sure it will be under water May and June but that's not unusual either - we were spoiled the last few years with lower water levels.
I've sup'd over the sandbar when it was 3 feet deep - I predict no effect, no erosion to the SB and we'll be launching from it mid june.

Luckily - thanks to Pepi - we have rights to launch from the grass until there's a sandbar to use. (actual date is negotiable I think depending on the water level).

made a quick stop earlier to check, if there is a wunderbar. it's small but it's there and it looks like it will stay that way.

I was out in the waves by the wunderbar yesterday, but there was no more green buoy (channel marker). I'm curious if it washed away or was removed on purpose?

I went down to check out the Wunderbar launch. Water level is just over the fishermen's bench.

I had my first experience with quicksand. It's quick! And cold. And it looked just like all the other sand. I was past knee deep before I knew it. Like stepping into a hole. Just got out with my boots. It was kind of freaky.

I ran into it just past the picnic table and driftwood shelter. In the brush.

Be careful down there.
