The Port of Arlington has been working for the last 2 years on approval to make a huge improvement of their launch site, at what is one of, if not the best kiting spots in the Gorge. While we've been hunkered down in the recent snow storm, they have been very busy making it happen. Huge thanks to Peter & Tony from Arlington for the having the vision, investing their time, and wrangling up the funds to make this a reality. Looking forward to testing it out soon!!!

Yes! Stoked about this update. That stretch of river gets so big and booming.

It will be nice to have an easier launch on the Oregon side when Roosevelt is packed on the holiday weekends!

Does anyone have a drawing of the site improvements they can put up? As they get closer to completion, it would be nice to see some drone footage.

Yea, I second the drawing request. Some civil plans or landscape renderings would be great to see.

Great to have another access point on this stretch of the river off 84.

THANK YOU!!!!

To everyone involved with any improvements to Arlington.

One might argue Arlington to be the best kite spot in the Gorge... IMHO

WOW, this is awesome news. As a traveller to the Gorge, I will make sure I spend money in this community this coming summer.

I heard Arlington was putting in a cable park.

Also a shuttle bus with pickups scheduled at 3 mile as well as the additional port owned dock area a few miles east.

Just kiddin! But it would be interesting to see how much that community might change if those features were available locally...

I remember the day you walked it off with the town manager, said it would happen, we bailed to 3 mile cause it was just too sketch a launch at Snarlingdale for us mere mortals. Great job!!!

Pretty cool to see Arlington's Port team understands what a good stoke picture looks like as they promote their new launch & waterfront. (Mile post 84.)

I have windsurfed here but always too sketched to kitesurf. With the CGWA investing money will this be a windsurf only site?

Would love to kite this!

Arlington to three mile downwinders - Gonna be a great kiteboarding year this year!!!!!

If the port district only wanted windsurfing activities to take place I think they would have drawn a windsurfer on their billboard... It appears to me they are actively marketing to the kitesurfing crowd. Let's let' them know their efforts haven't gone unnoticed.

Be sure to stop by for food at the local cafe and let them know you came because of their new waterpark!!!

Non-wind days check out their golf course... (not that Arlington actually has many non-wind days).

Other thoughts are that it might start getting busy in the launch zone as it kind of coincides with the "swell zone". There's plenty of swell above and below. Let's keep the peace with the windsurfers and stay out of the launch / landing zone except for launching and landing...
