I noticed he had his front foot in front of his foot hook the whole time. Is that a behind the boat thing or is his hook too far back?

The hook is facing backwards in the furthest back screw for the front straps. I just stuck it there for a handle. My feet are where they belong...roughly between the footstrap screws.

Rad!
I'm liking where this is going. Won't be long before we see wake to wake transfers I bet.

Pretty sick. Is that the long mast or a shorter version?
Nice work

25" SS mast. We tried a couple times with full length masts and found that if you ride at a normal height, say with only half the mast out of the water, the wing is too far under the wake to tap any power...and riding 3 feet off the deck on a full length mast, on a wave, right behind a boat is a little sketchy.
I'm just learning how to foil and didn't really know if this would work.
I probably have about 1.5 total hours on foil-all behind a boat. Just had my first session with a kite at Rufus a couple days ago.
This video was shot about 3 minutes after I locked into the wake for the first time. In other words, I'm not very good. Smile
It'd be fun to see a ripper give it go. Transfers, flips, and I think a guy (or girl) could drop way back on the wave.

Thanks for posting. I asked LP to make a 18-24" short mast for us to try behind the boat.

Very cool.
Someone should alert the marketing department at Slingshot (and Liquid Force).
They are really "missing the boat" if they don't include the foils in the wakesurf lineup for 2017.

Nice wave!
Indeed. There's a lot more land-locked surfers and wakeboard people is the U.S. than kiters for sure.
Everybody that owns a 120,000 Malibu or Mastercraft is going to want a foil in their quiver of toys.
I see Slingy and LForce marketing "wake specific" foils in the near future.

I wonder if this would work on a regular ski boat or whether it needs a wakesurfing boat to throw a big enough wake. After seeing that hydrofoil surfing video with Kai riding tiny swells, I'm thinking this wouldn't need nearly as big a wake as a regular wakesurf board.

Like an airchair you can stand up on and most importantly, ride without a rope.

word of caution - remember when you let go of the rope - you have tossed your get out of jail/trouble free card

so when you fall - you dont have the cheater kite bar or tow rope handle to pull you away from the head splitting ax - it can come at you quick from any of 360 degrees

wet suit, life vest, helmet cant hurt
