I hit a BIG submerged log floating out past the surf line yesterday, it did some major damage to the bottom of my board. The thought of this stuff silently floating in the water is pretty scary. Keep an eye out for hazards like this.

Sorry Jeremy, that was my log. I had one too many burritos at the Mexican establishment in Manzanita called 'The Left Coast"--SO tasty. Pre-session meals before kiting often don't pay off.
Glad you at least survived.
