Hi,
I just thought I'd mention this in case anyone else has had similar issues. I have a 2014 Apex Select harness and it has been brilliant for landboarding and snowkiting. When I got in the water, though, it would loosen up alarmingly fast. I took to wetting it and cranking it down to where I could hardly breathe and still I'd be wearing it like a necklace just a few minutes after any sort of body dragging. I'm pretty new to water, so after doing an embarrassing amount of body dragging, I often couldn't reach the bar. Made for some interesting situations, obviously. This went on for multiple days and my instructor finally gave me his ion harness because he was worried for my safety. It didn't slip so it was definitely this particular year / model.
I sent an email to the dudes I bought it from (Mac) and they were super cool. Apparently I'm not the only one who has had the problem. They shipped me 4 replacement buckles from the manufacturer within just a few days. They were a proper bitch to install, but I finally got it done and everything seems to be working famously. If you happen to have the same harness and it is loosening up alarmingly fast, definitely get those buckles replaced.
Let me know if you need tips on the replacement. _________________ Pfft... You call that a gust? |
