Thanks.
I"m pretty happy with the outline.
I still need to pull the nose rocker
back a bit and maybe add a smidge
more rocker though the mid and tail.
And the fins are'nt quite in the right
spot yet.
That's tough to see in the image but
easy enough to adjust in the 3D CAD
model before I machine the core.
Sorry, I'm obsessed.

Yes,cool. Is it difficult to create a GIF from your CAD program?
It looks like fun creating a board of this type.
I look forward to seeing it in action sometime this spring.

My CAD program, Pro/E, has Pro/Animate but I don't have that option in my
license config. I don't know if it will create animated gifs.
I do have Pro/PhotoRender which allows you to define lights, add textures,
decals and then let the render engine create a realistic image with shadows,
highlights, etc. That's called a photo realistic rendering.
In CAD, I set up a spin axis, rendered and saved an image of the board and
then rotated it 10 degrees and repeated to create 36 jpg frames. I used a
macro so it went pretty quick.
Then I used Ulead's gif animator to import and string the images together
and save it as an animated gif. It's pretty easy and you could have some
fun with a camera. I'm supprised that we don't see some of the sequence
shots as animated gifs.

you mean like this?
In addition to animations, how many people want Hein to add a shopping cart to his site?

Cool, Hein! I use Adobe ImageReady for making .gifs, and I'm fairly sure your Ulead proggy works pretty much the same. I've seen quite a few on MySpace of people doing "sequences," but it's a lot easier to pull from video. Not too many people have a 16fps digi SLR, which is what it would take to get half as many frames per sec as video.
One I made a long time ago of myself from vid. It's short 'cause we're limited to a 600kb file, if it's hosted on MySpace.
Or my friend Mel from New Year's shot with a Canon point and shoot in vid mode.
