Wondering if if ABS cement (http://www.oatey.com/products/plastic-pipe-cements-and-primers/oatey-abs-cements) will work for a neoprene to neoprene repair on a wetsuit. Seems to be similar to to McNett wetsuit cement https://www.mcnett.com/m-essentials/seal-cement. ABS cement has acetone and toluene which seem to be key ingredients in melding the material back together. Why would I do want to do this? Because I have spare can of ABS cement that I'd like to put to use instead of buying more stuff.

Thanks

Having a few years in the plumbing industry all I can say is every version of ABS cement cures out much to brittle for WS repairs. Maybe a better off-the-wall guess would be contact cement? And why not just purchase a jar of neoprene cement?

Even if it did work ABS cement dries to a hard plastic. Not sure if you want that rubbing against your skin.

Visit a dive shop and get neoprene cement. I use that with dental floss to repair my diving dry suits and wetsuits.

Never tried contact cement but I've used aquaseal on a bunch of things, including my wetsuit and booties and it works great. Dries very flexible.

I've had the greatest luck with "Seal Cement." It is a neoprene specific glue (although it works on lots of other things). In fact, it's time I got a new can of the stuff.

I use about 2 tubes of Aquaseal per lifetime of each neoprene item (wetsuit, booties, gloves). As soon as there is wear I put it on, a must have for waterwear.

aqua seal with the special thinner paints out almost like the liquid seam seal they use on the expensive wetsuits

McNett's Seam Grip Seam Sealer works on almost everything (kite repair, bladder repair, wetsuit repair, etc), it's good stuff.
