Just to clear up some facts.
This a tragedy for sure.
This person was not a local rider for Ocean Beach. The average kite out was a 5 m to 7 m and scary with gusts to 50.
This was straight onshore wind from a low pressure system, very gusty. Word is he had a smaller kite that had some maintenance issues, so went out on a 9 m slingshot RPM.
It was high tide too with hardly any beach between the water line and the parking lot.
We still do not know who it is. |
