That flat water looks sweet, I bet it was shot very early in the morning when everyone was still recovering from previous night. _________________ My pictures of the beautiful PNW

Yeah, that is a fun spot. Nobody on the water before noon. I don't know why, because nobody parties at night. Free booze, and nobody is at the bar??? 8 am - noon = 11m, noon - 1700 = 9m all day every day. The fisherman get there at 1000, $20 for a rescue. Pretty sketchy before they are there, because the wind is offshore and there is no get out for 1000 miles downwind. Pros: wind, beach, cheap cost, free booze, flat water. Cons: No wave riding, food sucks, going through Caracas REALLY sucks. Even the locals are afraid of that place. The one place where you are more likely to get mugged by the police than the crooks. But don't worry, the crooks will find you if the cops don't. If you do go, have an escort lined up in advance to meet you at the airport. Or, fly on a Canadian airline direct to Porlamor airport on Isla Margarita. (Then a boat to Coche.) Myself, if I was going to suffer through Caracas again, I'd hit Los Roques instead. Coche=outstanding. Los Roques=mind blowingly incredible. (I haven't actually been to Roques, just researched the spot.) |
