I ran a knot in my line under hot water then lightly tapped on it with a metal hammer. Easily undid the knot that way.

The knot was more of a tiny loop that looked like a knot.

Knots:
I had a knot a while back which would be easily missed under casual rigging inspections. The knot was up at the very top end, and partially hidden beneath that "sleeve" jacket material up near the larks-head. I missed it... did a powered kiteloop... snap! Swim Team. Now I fully inspect every rigging.
