Would like to launch a boat at Jones but don't have a 4x4. See there is the Beaver Boat Ramp in Clatskanie and then to the west of Jones at West Port Boat Ramp.
Any experience with either and is it possible to get to the Columbia from both? I see West Port shouldn't be a problem, but didn't know about the Clatskanie launch and if the access channel is deep enough to motor through to reach the Columbia. Looks like a cool trip if it does.

I've seen some pretty large day fishers launch out of the Clatskanie boat launch when I make my pre-kite pit stop at the ramp on the way to Jones. For boats that size, I don't think they would be launching in Clatskanie if they couldn't reach the Columbia.

If you live on the Washington side, you can use the very nice full service boat ramp in Cathlamet. A few years ago we did this with jet skis and it's about a 5 minute sprint to Jones. I big plus if you like kiting "the ponds" up on the Washington side of the river. If the tide is down, you can pump & rig on the Sand Island up in "The Alley".

I have used the West Port boat ramp to get to Jones by jet ski.
Not the best maintained boat ramp (lots of holes in the ramp) but it did do the job.
