Anyone remember the 5 line slingshot fuel bars? I bought a 2009 never used, 20" with 23m lines and five line set up. Want to adapt it to use with my 12 meter prodigy.
It is a bit of a puzzle to me right now. pigtail adaption not a problem but the safety line (5th) and shortness of throw on depower has me stumped.
Has any one tried adapting this bar to a 4 line kite?
Only paid $60 bucks so not going to cry if it can't be done.
Thanks

OR kites are designed to flag to the two front lines... different than most other brands. If you want the safety system to work properly... it'll take a couple extra bucks. I modded a Slingshot bar to work with my OR Prodigy just by buying an OR chicken loop assembly from Windance for $50. OR uses 5mm Spectra for its depower line. With the right parts, it was a pretty easy mod. I also spent $15 for the OR front line swivel... but I don't think that part is necessary if you're only looking for the safety system to work.

I'm pretty sure OR kites are designed to flag on to the two fronts or a single front. So you should be able to use a single front flagging bar. All OR bars flag to both fronts though.

Here is a reply on the matter from OR ( http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2385709&p=850857 ):

To address your concerns about the flagging system I'll first say that all of our kites will fly perfectly well with a Slingshot single line re-ride system or similar. The only caveat to this is that we rig our bars to have 4x equal line lengths and then we add 2x 5" pigtail line extensions to the back lines as "kook proof" connectors. So long as you run your lines out and re-assure yourself that all 4 lines are equal length and then add the connectors to the back lines you should be just fine.

With a little help from Windance's Dave Nunn, I think I have it. Extended the throw a bit but I really should replace the depower line, there's not much there. Thanks everyone.
