The readings on ikite look a lot stronger than the cam view and the white caps upon the water right now. I'd get it if you can this afternoon as it is forecasted to be very strong winds (nuked out) Tues and Wed and the temps will fall far below the water temps on those days. But it is going to be sunny!

You might have to get some jet washed east winds at the airport and or go to the ponds.

Score Kev! Thumb's Up I heard G-man and Slither were also out hitting the coastal goods. I got blown off the water at Rufus like a little bitch on my 8m. Sunny and warm but punchy high 30's gusting to 50 pumping smokey fat rollers blowing rainbows off each wave. Hopefully some coast or Rufus kite porn photos appear here soon.

Ken you should have join Me, Tracy and Cal at 3-mile. We had an awesome time almost kited till dark with huge swell all day long.

I camped at Rufus Saturday then headed to 3-mile about 10:00 AM.

Stevenson actually looks windier than Rooster this morning.
Should be plenty of wind at both spots today, but not nuked out yet if you don't mind the 44 degree air temps. Too cold for me, and I have to go to work.

Sorry Ken, all I have are couple of snaps of Tracy & John (and Victor's windsurfing buddy) I took from the parking lot at Three Mile while taking a break... Sunday was great! There was some huge swell out there, pics just don't do it any justice...

John and Cal! Thumb's Up It was moving so fast it was fun to watch guys disappear and then reappear across the river. Glad 3-mile treated you well. Smile

Screaming Easterlies in Newport today as the HMSC anemometer hit 42 mph while we were out kiting, but I am sure it was windier on the bay. Water was 58 degrees and air was 55 degrees and the wind was strong and steady!

I was working in Manzanita for the day and it was easily averaging 30 offshore. Didn't have my gear with me but I bet the Ponds at Ft Stevens were great. I wish there were better iKitesurf wind meters there. Anybody have better data than the Astoria airport? Just like last Spring when they got out of control, someone decided today was a good day to burn slash piles up the hillside from Arch Cape. With the wind, at dusk you could see spot fires over about 500 acres just up from the road. It's all acreage that was logged recently, but I can imagine it burning down to 101 tomorrow if the wind doesn't let up. I should have taken some pics but the smoke was intense.
