Notice from the Port of HR and the Army Corp of Engineers:

The Army Corps of Engineers is planning to lower the pool on Friday, October 24 to do some work at the Bonneville Dam. They are shooting for 70 feet which is roughly 3 feet lower than our typical low. This is not anticipated to cause any issues, other than the possibility the boat launch may be inaccessible in the marina.

Should be interesting…going to be lower than anything we’ve ever seen.

If you are kiting, windsurfing or boating along the corridor of the Columbia River on, before or after the 24th, be very aware of low water levels lower than you have ever seen before.

Thank you

Update with more specific details :

The request from the dam is for maintenance at the dam and will require the reservoir to be operated between 70.0-71.5 ft from 7:00am to 5:00pm on Friday, October 24th. We expect the reservoir levels will be reduced down below 71.5 ft during the day on Thursday, October 23rd and then increased above 71.5 ft starting Friday evening through Saturday, October 25th.

Thank you
