The boys rode their girlfriends' kites today at the Secret Spot - It was a solid 35-40 with some sun before the front pushed in and blew everyone off the water.

Where else was good today? How was Rufus? Stevenson was kind of a boring 12m--choppy and no swell, but i guess that is standard.

My mom taught me that a secret is something you dont talk about... That said...,
Can you give me directions to that spot so me and my gaper buddies can come out from Portland? We're all going to drive separate rigs and park really close to the highway. Is there good camping? I hope we dont cause any problems for you locals!

DangerD, Secret Spot isn't really a secret, that's its official name- check out the earlier posting of NW KITEBEACH GUIDE and Colby's link to the Guide text for more info. No camping at Secret Spot - I'd try Rufus for camping in East Gorge.
Here's another shot from yesterday. Enjoy.

Thanks for the pics T! What a great day at the NSSS. Highest jumps of my life I think, enough to cure me of my "dangle fever."
dangerD, don't worry... there's enough perils at the secret spot to keep the gapers away (rocky launch, barb wire, nukin gusty wind, parking tickets, car breakins, no launch room, freaky near misses from the 50mph trains going by every 10 minutes.) Too bad about SBC though, geez that's just ridiculous!

That's fucking huge, Phillip.
one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two, one-thousand-three,
one-thousand-four, one-thousand-five, one-thousand.six....
Nice.

Believe it or not, Phil, aka poster boy, landed a couple of these insanely high jumps and rode out on his new Hein board.
PS - I think some of his jumps were even higher than the photo shows, but too far away from shore to capture with my camera. Too bad Bam wasn't there.
PPS - Another true inspiration was watching Joe ride his surfboard in the 35+ wind and sizable swell.

Yeah Joe was surfin' that board in like straight 35knots wind on a 9m?! I couldn't figure out how he was doing that, something else.
