What the best board for the blowout?
Directional? Strapped? Twin? |

Directional definitely. I've had many friends who opted for TT and spent the next 2 hours face-planting.
Straps? Depends on the conditions. Two years ago I was on a "pro" team a la Tony's new improved team system. They all went straps, and they all came to me and said: "STRAPS, 9 METER!"
It was a powered day. _________________ CGKA Member

Flipper, it really depends on what you're most comfortable with. I haven't competed in the Blowout, but I have done the Stevenson to Hood River downwinder, and I was fine on a TT but that's also what I ride pretty much all the time. Last year's winner was on a TT with boots... most others on directionals. If you're equally proficient with both, then I think directional is probably easier for going straight down wind. Just keep in mind its a long way, so confidence inspiring confidence is a good bet! |

Im pretty sure eric won it last year on a wakeboard as well.
When going straight downwind I think having boots is definitely the best option but most important go out on the biggest kite you have! _________________ I heart dangling |
