I am hoping someone can offer advice/assistance/insight with my problem...

I've had the unfortunate experiences of having my 2012 SS QR releasing without my assistance. The first time it occurred, I thought I'd inadvertently released it somehow. It has happened 3 times on a 14m rally that I've ridden about 15 times (I purchased it new in 2012). I messed around with the small bungie that holds the release thinking maybe it's overstretched? Do those pieces of bungee get stretched and thusly need to be replaced somewhat regularly? Is there something else it could be? I contacted SS via email but haven't received a reply.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how can it be fixed?

Any assistance will be appreciated!

Amy

shorten the bungee by tying a new knot, making it shorter. if it's frayed, replace it. It will release sometimes from a good whack from something, so check it to see how loose it feels on the beach.

Kind of a shock when they let go, huh?

Definitely! The swim in isn't much fun either. Thanks for the info Marc! I appreciate it!
